# Rodina (political party) **Rodina** ("Motherland") is a Russian nationalist party. As an electoral bloc it won 9.02% of the vote and 38 seats in the 2003 Duma election; it became a party in February 2004 under Dmitry Rogozin, with Sergey Glazyev among the founders, and merged into A Just Russia on October 28, 2006. It was re-established on September 29, 2012 under Alexei Zhuravlyov. Since then it has been a marginal electoral force — 1.51% and one seat in 2016, 0.80% and one seat in 2021 — but its St. Petersburg branch hosted the March 2015 International Russian Conservative Forum and launched the [[World National-Conservative Movement]], which Wikipedia lists as the party's international affiliation. ## RWKB angle Rodina illustrates how the Kremlin tolerates small nationalist parties that can do outreach to the European far right that the ruling party itself would not. ## See Also - [[World National-Conservative Movement]]
