# Repository for Germinal Choice **Status: stub.** Sperm bank founded in 1980 by [[Robert K. Graham]] in Escondido, California, which solicited donations from Nobel laureates and other men designated as cognitively elite, and which operated until 1999. Popularly called the "Nobel Prize sperm bank." Its KB relevance is as the **positive-selection** counterpart to the restrictionist program: where [[Passive Eugenics]] worked to suppress the reproduction and entry of disfavored populations, the Repository attempted to boost the reproduction of a favored one through private, market-mediated, entirely voluntary means — the same objective reached without any state involvement at all. It is the direct ancestor of contemporary commercial embryo-selection ventures. *Stub — expand with: donor recruitment and the Shockley episode, roughly 215 children born, the 2005 journalistic reconstruction of the donor pool, and continuity with modern polygenic screening startups.* See also: [[Eugenics]], [[Pronatalism]], [[Robert K.
