# One Nation (Australia) > [!note] Disambiguation > This is the Australian political party. For the American dark-money 501(c)(4) aligned with Senate Republican leadership, see [[One Nation]], which holds the bare name in this vault. **Pauline Hanson's One Nation** is the Australian right-populist party launched on **11 April 1997** in Ipswich, Queensland, by [[Pauline Hanson]] with advisers David Ettridge and David Oldfield. It ran on opposition to Asian immigration, to multiculturalism and to Indigenous-specific programs, and it arrived roughly two decades before the equivalent parties in Europe and the United States reached national salience — which is the reason it is worth a page here. The Australian major-party response, of absorbing the platform while refusing the coalition, is one of the two available strategies the vault tracks against the German cordon sanitaire. ## See Also - [[Pauline Hanson]] - [[Australia]] - [[Australian History Hub]] - [[White Australia Policy]] - [[One Nation]]
