# National Nurses United The largest union of registered nurses in the United States, formed in 2009 through the merger of three existing nursing unions. NNU has been one of the most politically active unions in the progressive wing of the [[Labor Movement]], championing Medicare for All, safe staffing ratios, and workplace safety protections.
