# Mijente A national Latinx and Chicanx political-organizing hub founded in 2015 and led by co-founder and executive director Marisa Franco. Mijente operates as a digital and grassroots movement-building network, and is best known in this KB as the organization that pioneered the institutional-pressure model now used against [[Palantir]]. ## #NoTechForICE (2018–2020) Mijente's **#NoTechForICE** campaign called on every technology company working with [[ICE]] to halt its support, naming [[Palantir]] and Amazon as the data-and-surveillance backbone of deportation operations. The campaign disrupted Palantir's college-campus recruiting and built organizing capacity among tech workers, students, and shareholders — establishing the template of targeting a contractor's softer institutional relationships rather than the Pentagon/intelligence core directly. ## Role in Purge Palantir Mijente is a lead organization — alongside the [[American Friends Service Committee]] and [[MediaJustice]] — in the [[Purge Palantir]] divestment coalition (2025–present), which pressures Palantir's civilian anchor customers (hospitals, universities, pension funds). [[Jacinta González]], a Mijente organizer, is among the coalition's lead figures. The coalition's first major win was NYC Health + Hospitals declining to renew its Palantir contract in March 2026. ## See Also - [[Purge Palantir]] - [[Palantir]] - [[American Friends Service Committee]] - [[MediaJustice]] - [[Jacinta González]] - [[ICE]]
