# Dialog Society
An invite-only, off-the-record network founded in **2006** in [[Peter Thiel]]'s orbit that convenes influential figures from technology, finance, politics, the military, and the intelligence community at annual retreats. For nearly two decades Dialog operated almost entirely out of public view and never disclosed its membership — until a 2026 data leak exposed it. Observers have likened it to a "Bilderberg" for the tech-right (see [[Bilderberg Group]]).
## The 2026 Leak
The network's secrecy broke when Swiss hacktivist maia arson crimew obtained internal records, later verified by **WIRED**. The leaked material included participant directories, registration data for the group's planned **2026 retreat in Ireland**, and personal information members had been assured would stay private.
### Named participants
Among the figures the leak surfaced:
| Name | Role |
|------|------|
| [[Scott Bessent]] | U.S. Treasury Secretary |
| [[Ted Cruz]] | U.S. Senator (Texas) |
| [[Joe Lonsdale]] | [[Palantir]] co-founder; [[8VC]] |
| [[Alexus Grynkewich]] | NATO Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR) |
| [[Elon Musk]] | Named on the separately published 113-name list. The leak does not say whether the people listed were members, conference participants or guests, so his status is unknown |
Status matters here. Reporting on the leak stresses that the directory does not distinguish members from conference participants or guests. Every name in the table is "named in the leak," not a confirmed member. LittleSis links Musk to Dialog; this page records only that he is named in the leak.
The directories also reportedly included senior intelligence and military officials and ambassadors — an unusually direct overlap between a private, Thiel-orbit forum and sitting holders of national-security and economic power.
### Agenda
Sessions planned for the 2026 gathering carried titles that capture the network's preoccupations: **"Navigating WWIII," "Battlefield Technologies," "Bring Back Nuclear,"** and **"Money (Does?) Buy Happiness."** The themes track closely with the defense-tech and great-power-conflict frames documented elsewhere in this vault.
## Significance
Dialog is a concrete map of the elite network connecting [[Peter Thiel]]'s world to the machinery of the U.S. state. Where this KB tracks the tech-right largely through companies, donations, and public statements, Dialog documents the private, deniable layer — the room where a Treasury Secretary, a sitting Senator, a NATO commander, and a Palantir co-founder discuss "Battlefield Technologies" off the record. It is a prime node for network-mapping: the leaked member list is a source of new person-nodes and a direct illustration of how influence in this ecosystem is brokered out of public sight. The planned D.C.-area campus (reported by Axios in 2025) signals an intent to institutionalize that access.
