# AB PAC
**FEC committee C00492140** — the federal **Hybrid PAC (with Non-Contribution Account)** through which
**American Bridge 21st Century** makes independent expenditures. First filed **2010-11-23**.
This page is the **committee-level** page. It exists because money findings from the FEC e-file feed attach
to a committee ID, and this committee's filings are the primary record for American Bridge's electoral
spending. The organisation was founded in 2010 by **[[David Brock]]** and Bradley Beychok as an
opposition-research shop; Brock is no longer actively involved.

## Why it matters
**It is the vault's only billboard spender at scale, and that makes it invisible to the ad trackers.**
Published outside-spending figures come from broadcast and digital monitoring. A $22.76M out-of-home buy
appears in none of it. See [[AB PAC 22.8M Billboard IE October 2026]].
**Its October notice is 100% positive**, which has no counterpart in this vault — and is unexpected from an
organisation built as an opposition-research operation.
**The escalation.** *Inside Political Money* reported on **2026-09-25** that AB PAC had raised **$47.3M**
toward a **"record $50 million paid media program"**, had spent $46.3M cycle-to-date including **$8.5M of
independent expenditures**, and held **$3M cash on hand** as of 2026-08-31. The single notice five weeks
later is **2.7× that entire cycle IE total**.

> - **Receipts.** No Form 3X for C00492140 has been read here. The $31M attributed by *Inside Political
> Money* to the AB Foundation ($16.6M), Deborah Simon ($5M), Democracy PAC ($4M) and Democracy Matters
> ($5.5M) is **secondary-source only** and is not verified against a filing on this page.
> - **The AB Foundation** — a 501(c)(4) reported at $74.6M of 2024 revenue that transfers to this
> committee and discloses no donors.
> - **Cycle-to-date.** Not derived; it can only be summed from this committee's own filings, and
> the Q3 report (due 2026-10-15) will restate the October notice's 253 lines.
