# Elected Officials Hub
The **office-holder navigation layer** for the KB. Person records live canonically and flat in `/People/`; this folder does not move them. It exists to solve a single problem — with well over a thousand pages in `/People/`, the roster MOCs that organize sitting officeholders were impossible to find. This is the hub that surfaces them.
The division of labor in the vault:
- **The offices** — the governorship, the Senate, the House as institutions — are the structural machinery and live under Foundations (see [[Congress]] and [[Federal Government]]).
- **The office-holders** — the individual governors, senators, representatives, and state executives — live as `type: person` pages in `/People/`, each carrying a role tag (`governor`, `senator`, `representative`, `state-official`).
- **The rosters** — the "who currently holds these offices" navigational layer — are the MOCs collected here.
- **The races** — who is running, where it's competitive, what's at stake — live separately in [[2026 Midterms Hub]] and are not duplicated here. This hub is records; the midterms hub is the state of play.
## Roster MOCs
- **[[US Governors Hub]]** — all 50 sitting state governors, organized by party, with the figures most active in the 2025–2026 national cycle annotated. 26 Republican / 24 Democratic as of January 2026.
- **[[Members of Congress Hub]]** — leadership of both chambers plus the most outspoken sitting senators and representatives of this cycle. Selective, not all 535; the full membership is tracked race-by-race in the midterms hub.
- **[[State Officials Hub]]** — notable non-gubernatorial state executives: attorneys general, secretaries of state, and lieutenant governors who have been consequential this cycle (election administration, multistate AG litigation, succession watch).
- **[[US Mayors Hub]]** — selective roster of big-city mayors who are national political actors: the federal-versus-city flashpoints of the cycle (sanctuary cities, federal force in cities, the Mamdani phenomenon).
- **[[Battleground Election Officials Hub]]** — who runs, defends, or sought to capture the election machinery in the seven decisive states; the officeholder layer beneath the election-denial cluster.
## Sibling hubs
- [[US Presidents Hub]] — the historical executive roster (same MOC pattern; now a sibling in this folder)
- [[Congress]] — the legislative branch as institution: committees, support agencies, procedure
- [[Federal Government]] — the whole-of-government structural spine
- [[2026 Midterms Hub]] — the live election-tracking layer
## Conventions
A name appearing as plain text (not a `[[wikilink]]`) means **no page exists yet**. Role classification is by frontmatter tag, never by folder; an official can carry multiple role and watchlist tags simultaneously.
