# a16z 2026 Midterm Donation Aggregate
Per New York Times analysis cited in May 2026 coverage, [[Andreessen Horowitz]] and its co-founders [[Marc Andreessen]] and [[Ben Horowitz]] have donated more than $115M in disclosed federal contributions to 2026 midterm election efforts through May 2026. This places the a16z bloc ahead of [[George Soros]] ($102.9M) and [[Elon Musk]] ($85M), making it the single largest donor bloc of the cycle.
This is an aggregate-profile Deal per the §6a `donation-aggregate` subtype. Individual ≥$1M transactions within the aggregate will be broken out as their own discrete Deal files as they are identified through filing-level review.
## Significance
The most consequential political-money story of the 2026 cycle so far. Until 2024 a16z had projected ideologically heterodox positioning ("Little Tech" framing); the 2026 cycle marks the partners' open emergence as the largest single-firm political donor bloc on the right. The fact that the bloc is *ahead of Soros and Musk* signals a fundamental shift in Silicon Valley political money — a16z partners are now the dominant single force, not legacy political donors. Drilldown into individual recipient PACs is the next research step.
