# Isaacman 2M to MAGA Inc August 2026
On **August 19, 2026**, [[Jared Isaacman]] contributed **$2,000,000** to [[MAGA Inc]] — [[Donald Trump]]'s
principal super PAC — while serving as the Senate-confirmed **Administrator of [[NASA]]**. The contribution
brings his 2026-cycle total to that committee to **$3,000,000**.

The employer and occupation fields are not the vault's characterisation. They are what the committee's own

## Why the date and the office both matter
Isaacman's earlier giving to this committee came **before** he held federal office: $1,000,000 in June 2025
and $1,000,000 in September 2025, both during the period when his first nomination had been withdrawn and
his second had not yet been made. That history was reported in February 2026 and is not what this Deal
records.
He was confirmed by the Senate as the **15th NASA Administrator on December 18, 2025**, after a
thirteen-month fight, and was still in the post in May 2026 per NASA's own administrator communications. The
contribution on the record here therefore has a different character from the 2025 gifts: it is money moving
from a sitting, Senate-confirmed agency head to the super PAC of the President who nominated him, six weeks
before a federal election.
> [!note] What this page does not claim
> Federal law does not bar a presidential appointee from contributing to a super PAC, and the [[Hatch Act]]
> restricts partisan activity in the workplace and in an official capacity rather than personal political
> giving by a Senate-confirmed officer. No allegation of illegality is made or implied here. The fact worth
> recording is structural: the disclosure exists, the office is real, and both are in the same document.
## Position in the pattern
MAGA Inc's donor file already contains a company whose revenue depends on discretionary awards from the
administration its super PAC supports — [[GEO Group]] subsidiaries routed $1.4M to the committee within days
of two ICE contract announcements in July 2026. Isaacman sits on the other side of the same relationship:
not a contractor buying from the government, but a government official funding the political operation of
the President who appointed him, while running an agency whose largest launch contracts flow to [[SpaceX]],
a company he has flown with twice and whose founder [[Elon Musk]] he is closely tied to.
That last connection is the one to be careful with. It is real and it is documented on
[[Jared Isaacman]]'s page, but nothing in this filing links the contribution to any NASA procurement
decision, and no source examined here asserts one. The [[Conflict of Interest]] here is positional,
not transactional, unless and until something shows otherwise.
## How this was found
Through the **raw filed document**, not the API. The itemised rows behind the September 2026 monthly reports
were not retrievable through OpenFEC's processed endpoints for days after filing; they were readable
immediately at `docquery.fec.gov/dcdev/posted/2014511.fec`.
One further detail from that document belongs here: MAGA Inc's August report contains **eighteen itemised
Schedule A rows and not one of them sits on Line 11 (contributions)**. Every row, this one included, is filed
on **Line 17, Other Federal Receipts**, and carries the purpose string "NON-CONTRIBUTION". Why a $2,000,000
receipt from a named individual with a stated employer and occupation is characterised as a non-contribution
is not explained on the face of the filing, and the vault should not guess. It is flagged here as an open
question, not resolved.
## Open questions
- **Why Line 17.** The characterisation of this receipt as a non-contribution is unexplained. A refund, a
recharacterisation, or an amended report would each resolve it differently. Watch for an F3XA amendment.
- **Whether any ethics question is raised publicly.** That would be a second source on significance rather
than a new transaction.
- **Whether there is further giving while in office.** The October Monthly (2026-10-20) is the next document.
