# Apollo-Blackstone Anthropic Chip Financing
[[Apollo Global Management]] and [[Blackstone]] finalized a $35–36 billion private-credit package — among the largest chip-financing debt transactions on record — funding purchases of [[Google]] custom TPUs that [[Anthropic]] will lease to expand its AI compute capacity. The structure is backed by Broadcom. Apollo began shopping the debt to investors May 28, 2026, alongside Anthropic's equity announcement (see [[Anthropic $65B Series H]]); the package was finalized the first week of June.
Note: this is debt financing rather than a conventional partnership — `deal_subtype: partnership` is the closest available enum value, flagged in the 2026-06-07 sweep as a candidate for a future `debt-financing` subtype.
## Significance
A record private-credit transaction that puts the two biggest PE/credit houses directly inside the AI-compute buildout, rhyming with their roles backing the [[OpenAI Deployment Company JV]] and Anthropic's own enterprise joint venture. It also hardens the Google–Anthropic hardware axis at the same moment Google became xAI's compute customer (see [[Google-SpaceX xAI Compute Deal]]) — Wall Street's balance sheets are now load-bearing infrastructure for the AI race the KB tracks.
