# Sacred Geometry The belief that specific geometric forms and proportions — the circle, the golden ratio, the Platonic solids, figures like the *tetractys*, the *vesica piscis*, the "flower of life" — encode a divine or cosmic order, and that contemplating or reproducing them grants access to that order. Its intellectual pedigree runs from [[Pythagoras]]'s claim that reality is number, through [[Plato]]'s association of the five regular solids with the elements (*Timaeus*), into the perennialist reading of geometry as the sacred language of a single primordial Tradition (see [[René Guénon]], [[Traditionalism]]). For the KB, sacred geometry sits on the mystical side of the fork that opens with Pythagoras: the legitimate insight that nature exhibits mathematical regularity, pushed into the claim that hidden geometric patterns govern reality and confer special insight on those who decode them. In that degraded form it is a staple of [[Esotericism]] and of contemporary "conspirituality," overlapping with [[Numerology]] and the [[Music of the Spheres]] as an aesthetic of hidden-order authority. ## The overclaiming, and the market The golden ratio is the test case. φ ≈ 1.618 does appear in phyllotaxis and in the pentagon; it does not appear in the Parthenon's façade, the Great Pyramid's proportions, the nautilus shell or the human body in the ways the literature claims, and the claims have been checked — the numbers are fitted after the fact, which is the [[Apophenia]] method with a compass. The Platonic solids are real mathematics (there are exactly five, and Euclid proves it) attached to an unreal cosmology (fire is tetrahedral). Freemasonry made the square and compasses an emblem of moral order; the nineteenth-century occult revival made the same figures keys to hidden knowledge; and the New Age market of the 1980s onward made them merchandise — flower-of-life pendants, "sacred geometry" retreats, the Fibonacci tattoo. The right-adjacent crossover is the vault's interest. The 2020 "conspirituality" migration — wellness and alt-spirituality audiences moving into [[QAnon]] and anti-vaccine politics — ran on exactly the epistemics sacred geometry trains: that the visible world is a surface, that a hidden order underlies it, that the initiated can read the pattern and the rest are asleep. [[Traditionalism]]'s reading of geometry as the language of a primordial Tradition ([[René Guénon]]) gave the habit an intellectual pedigree, and the same tradition supplies the far right's metaphysics of hierarchy.
