# National Intelligence Program The **National Intelligence Program (NIP)** is one of the two budget streams that fund the U.S. [[Intelligence Community Hub]]. The NIP covers intelligence activities that serve **national-level** consumers (the President, the National Security Council, and departments government-wide); it is built and defended by the [[ODNI]], which has budget authority over it. Its companion stream is the [[Military Intelligence Program]] (MIP), which funds tactical and department-specific military intelligence and is managed by the [[Department of Defense]]. Both aggregate figures are declassified annually, but the line items are not. Stub — expand with the NIP/MIP split, the ODNI's transfer and reprogramming authority, and the annual topline disclosures. ## See also - [[Military Intelligence Program]] - [[Intelligence Community Tree]] - [[Intelligence Community Hub]] - [[ODNI]]
