# Military Intelligence Program The **Military Intelligence Program (MIP)** is one of the two budget streams that fund the U.S. [[Intelligence Community Hub]]. The MIP covers intelligence activities that support **military operations** — tactical and department-specific programs run inside the [[Department of Defense]] — and is managed by the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence & Security rather than the [[ODNI]]. Its companion stream is the [[National Intelligence Program]] (NIP), which funds national-level intelligence and is controlled by the ODNI. Some DoD intelligence elements draw on both. Both aggregate toplines are declassified annually. Stub — expand with the NIP/MIP boundary, dual-funded elements, and the annual topline disclosures. ## See also - [[National Intelligence Program]] - [[Intelligence Community Tree]] - [[Intelligence Community Hub]] - [[Department of Defense]]
