# Anduril Bolt-M [[Anduril]]'s man-portable loitering munition — a small, lightweight "kamikaze drone" designed to give individual Marine squads their own organic precision strike capability. Bolt-M puts lethal autonomous firepower at the infantry level, deployable from a backpack by a small team in minutes. ## What It Does Bolt-M is a VTOL (vertical takeoff and landing) quadcopter loitering munition that requires no launch rails or catapults — it lifts off from any terrain, including confined spaces. Once airborne, it can loiter over an area, identify targets, and strike with precision on human authorization. ### Specifications - **Range:** 20+ kilometers - **Endurance:** ~40 minutes - **Weight:** 13-15 pounds all-up - **Launch:** VTOL, no launch infrastructure needed - **Design:** Quadcopter configuration - **Deployment time:** Prepared and flown in a few minutes Multiple rounds plus a compact ground control station can be carried by a small team without overloading a patrol. ## Who Uses It ### U.S. Marine Corps — Organic Precision Fires-Light (OPF-L) The Marines selected Anduril's Bolt-M for the OPF-L program, which provides infantry squads with their own precision strike weapon. OPF-L is a multi-vendor effort — Anduril (Bolt-M), AeroVironment (Switchblade 300 Block 20), and Teledyne FLIR Defense (Rogue 1) are all supplying systems. ## Contract Value - $23.9M contract for 600+ units (January 2026) - Deliveries: February 2026 to April 2027 - Operational fielding: Summer 2026 - Production capacity: scaling from 100+ to 175+ units per month - The initial 250+ unit tranche underwent 13 months of testing before the production contract ## Relationship to Altius Bolt-M is the smaller, man-portable cousin to [[Anduril Altius]]. Where Altius is a longer-range, tube-launched system for company/battalion level operations, Bolt-M is designed for squad-level use with a shorter range but simpler deployment. Together they represent Anduril's full range of loitering munitions from tactical to operational. ## See Also - [[Anduril Product Ecosystem]] — Master reference - [[Anduril]] — Company record - [[Anduril Altius]] — Larger loitering munition family - [[Anduril Lattice]] — Software platform - [[Autonomous Weapons Debate]]
