# Television News Inc
A short-lived conservative news service (1973–1975) created by Nixon aide Joseph Coors and media consultant Robert Pauley, with early involvement from Roger Ailes — the man who would later create Fox News. TVN produced and syndicated news segments to local television stations, offering a conservative alternative to what Nixon's allies considered the liberal bias of the broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC).
TVN failed commercially and folded within two years, but its significance to the vault's [[Media Ecosystem]] is as the proof-of-concept that preceded Fox News by two decades. The 1970 "A Plan for Putting the GOP on TV News" memo — attributed to Ailes during his time in the Nixon White House — outlined the vision of a partisan television news operation that would bypass the mainstream networks. TVN was the first attempt at implementation. Fox News (launched 1996) was the successful second attempt, building on the same premise with Rupert Murdoch's capital and Ailes's production expertise.
