# SLI Compliance
**SLI Compliance** is a Wheat Ridge, Colorado testing laboratory and **one of only two Voting System Test Laboratories (VSTLs) accredited by the [[Election Assistance Commission]]**. The other is [[Pro V&V]]. It is a division of **Gaming Laboratories International (GLI)**, which tests casino gaming equipment: the same skill, applied to a different regulated machine. Its vice president is Traci Mapps.
## One lab, three names
SLI is older than its current name suggests. It began as **SysTest Labs**, became SLI Global Solutions in 2010, and was bought by GLI on March 3, 2015. It has used its current name since 2016.
As SysTest it was suspended by the EAC on October 31, 2008, and reinstated on March 5, 2009. That suspension is part of why the field is so small. Other labs left in the same years:
- CIBER's interim accreditation was ended in 2007.
- InfoGard's expired in 2008.
- iBeta withdrew in 2010.
That left the two labs the whole country now depends on.
## What it tests
Its current EAC certificate (February 12, 2025) covers VVSG 1.0, 1.1 and 2.0. Under the [[Voluntary Voting System Guidelines]] 2.0 it has tested:
- **[[Hart InterCivic]]'s Verity Vanguard 1.0 and 1.1.** Vanguard 1.0 was the first VVSG 2.0 system, certified July 2025.
- **VotingWorks VxSuite 4.0.** Certified September 15, 2026, it was the first open-source voting system to win federal certification.
With Pro V&V, SLI ran Maricopa County's February 2021 audits of its [[Dominion Voting Systems]] equipment, which found no hacking or vote-switching.
The process is the same as at Pro V&V. [[National Institute of Standards and Technology]] recommends accreditation, the EAC adds a non-technical review, and the commissioners vote. Manufacturers choose and pay their own lab. Several states that run their own certification use the same two labs, so a federal decision about a lab carries into state law without any state acting.
## Ownership
In 2026 GLI took its first outside investor. **CVC Capital Partners'** Strategic Opportunities fund made a minority investment that closed in late June 2026. GLI's founders kept ownership, and James Maida stayed chief executive. The size of CVC's stake was not disclosed.
## Frozen in place
Accreditation and revocation both need EAC commissioners, and the commission has had none since July 2026. SLI's status, like Pro V&V's, cannot currently be changed in either direction.
