# Flynn Intel Group
**Flynn Intel Group** was the consulting firm [[Michael Flynn]] founded in October 2014. During the 2016 campaign it took $530,000 for work that benefited the government of [[Turkey]] while Flynn was a senior Trump adviser — and it did not register as a foreign agent until after Flynn had left the White House.
## The Turkey contract
From late August to November 2016, Inovo BV, a Dutch company owned by Turkish businessman Ekim Alptekin, paid the firm $530,000 for work focused on [[Fethullah Gülen]], the exiled cleric whose extradition the Turkish government sought. The final $145,000 arrived on November 14, 2016. On Election Day, November 8, Flynn published an op-ed in *The Hill* calling Gülen a "radical cleric." On March 7, 2017 the firm filed a retroactive [[FARA]] registration conceding its work "could be construed to have principally benefited the Republic of Turkey."
## The Kian case
Flynn's partner [[Bijan Kian]] was indicted with Alptekin in December 2018. A jury convicted Kian in July 2019; Judge Anthony Trenga entered an acquittal in September 2019; the Fourth Circuit reinstated the verdict in March 2021; Trenga ordered a new trial in 2022; and the Justice Department dropped the case with prejudice on September 11, 2023. Flynn himself was pardoned in 2020.
## ACU Strategic Partners and the nuclear plan
Separately, Alex Copson's ACU Strategic Partners funded a 2015 Flynn trip to the Middle East to promote a Saudi-financed U.S.–Russian nuclear-power program; the related consortium IP3 International formed in 2016 (IP3 denies Flynn advised it). A whistleblower told House Oversight Democrats that during Trump's inaugural address on January 20, 2017, Flynn texted Copson that the project was "good to go" and that sanctions would be "ripped up."
## RWKB angle
The firm is the template for the national security adviser as undisclosed deal-maker for foreign governments.
