# Decision Desk HQ **Decision Desk HQ (DDHQ)** is an independent election-results and race-calling operation that sells vote-count data and projections to news organizations outside the major-network arrangements. It was the race-calling service used by [[NewsNation]] in 2024 and was **first to call the 2024 presidential result**. DDHQ matters structurally because it is the surviving alternative. From the 2026 midterms, [[ABC News]], [[CBS News]], [[NBC News]], [[CNN]] and [[Fox News]] all take their vote count from the [[Associated Press]]; DDHQ is one of the few remaining independent national counts against which that one can be checked. See [[How Election Results Are Transmitted and Reported]], closing block A, on what the loss of independent counts costs. This is a stub — created in the 2026-10-02 ASCII map build. Expand with ownership and funding, its data-collection method as against the AP's stringer network, its client list for 2026, and its published call standards. ## See Also - [[How Election Results Are Transmitted and Reported]] - [[Associated Press]] · [[NewsNation]] - [[ABC News]] · [[CBS News]] · [[NBC News]] · [[CNN]] · [[Fox News]]
