# Davie Defense **Davie Defense, Inc.** is the U.S. arm of Canada's Inocea Group, parent of the Chantier Davie shipyard in Quebec and of Helsinki Shipyard in Finland. It is the largest single beneficiary of the [[United States Coast Guard]]'s Arctic Security Cutter program. On **February 11, 2026** the Coast Guard announced Davie's award — the one that completed the eleven-hull order — and on **May 13, 2026** [[Department of Homeland Security]] finalized it at roughly **$3.5 billion for five cutters**. Under the announced plan, **two are built at Helsinki Shipyard in Finland and three domestically**, with first delivery expected in early 2028. The awards across the program were made without competitive bidding, which is what places Davie in the [[The Spending Gap]] ledger rather than in the ordinary defense-industrial file.
