# Columbus Nova
Columbus Nova was a New York investment firm run by Andrew Intrater, the American cousin of Russian oligarch [[Viktor Vekselberg]]. Vekselberg's Renova Group was Columbus Nova's largest client.
In 2017, Columbus Nova paid Trump fixer [[Michael Cohen]] roughly $500,000 routed through Essential Consultants — the same shell company Cohen had created to pay Stormy Daniels $130,000 before the 2016 election (see [[Stormy Daniels Hush Money Case]]). The firm said it hired Cohen as a consultant on real estate and investment opportunities and denied that Vekselberg funded or directed the payments.
