# Bancredito Holding Corporation
The holding company of Bancrédito International Bank, the Puerto Rico international bank owned by Venezuelan banker [[Julio Herrera Velutini]]. Puerto Rico's financial regulator announced the bank's voluntary liquidation in August 2022, the same month Herrera Velutini was indicted. In September 2023 [[FinCEN]] fined the bank $15 million for willful [[Bank Secrecy Act]] violations, including failing to report suspicious transactions by Venezuelan customers. In 2026 the holding company has paid [[Ballard Partners]] $630,000 a quarter, through the law firm of [[Chris Kise]], to lobby the Treasury on banking regulatory restrictions.
