# AK-Gov — 2026 Alaska Governor's Race > [!note] Stub > This is a short entry that hasn't been fully written yet. The seat is open because Republican Gov. Mike Dunleavy is term-limited. Four candidates advanced from the August 18 top-four primary: Democrat **[[Jonathan Kreiss-Tomkins]]** and Republicans **Dave Bronson**, **Treg Taylor** and **Bernadette Wilson**. Voters rank them, so if no one has a majority of first choices the ranked-choice count decides it after absentee ballots arrive, up to 15 days after Election Day (FairVote). Tonight's figures are first choices only. **Ratings:** Cook Political Report rated it Lean Democratic (as of Oct. 29, per NPR). The Associated Press lists Alaska among the open seats Democrats are targeting. See also [[AK-Sen-2026]]. ## Result Not yet called as of November 3, 2026.
